Diamond Cuts Explained.
Selecting the perfect diamond at Gerard McCabe starts with assessing the cut of the gemstone as this has the most influence on its performance. That is the intense sparkle that you want from your diamond. We look for diamonds that offer the very best performance, and each is individually selected for brilliance, fire and scintillation.
By having these impeccable diamond standards, our diamonds are typically within the top 15% of cut grading scales, with a triple excellent rating preferred. We work directly with the cutters ensuring our standards are met so that we can give you a diamond that is nothing short of exquisite.

Selecting a Gerard McCabe Diamond
Following only the strictest standards of quality.
CUT
The cut bears huge influence on the 'sparkle' of your diamond. Our diamonds fall within the top 15% of grading scales - ensuring that your diamond is nothing short of exquisite.
COLOUR
The diamond colour grading is a measure of the colour, or the absence of colour, in the diamond. In this regard, the more colourless a diamond is, the more beautiful and valuable it is.
CLARITY
Diamonds with minimal inclusions (naturally occuring blemishes) are graded at a higher clarity rating. Our diamonds must have minimal inclusions or must have minimal impact to the visual beauty of the gemstone.
CARAT
This is the measurement of a diamond's weight. Gerard McCabe Engagement ring collections have a range of designs for 0.30ct up to 5ct and beyond.
Diamond Certification
Over 35 years experience.
All Gerard McCabe diamonds that are 0.50ct and larger are certified and traceable. Our natural diamonds are certified by the Gemological Institute of America. GIA certified diamonds have a unique laser inscribed code which can be verified on their website and on the supplied Diamond Grading Report.
Our lab grown diamonds follow the same strict certification standards as our natural selection of diamonds. Synthetic diamonds are certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and their unique code is laser inscribed on the girdle of the diamond.
