Queensland Boulder Opal is celebrated not only for its visual appeal but also for its connection to the Australian Outback and the unique geological processes that give rise to this beautiful gemstone. They have a vibrant and captivating play-of-colours within. The colours can include a wide range of hues such as blues, greens, reds, and purples, and they can change as you view the opal from different angles. Unlike other opals that are typically cut as cabochons to showcase the entire gem, Boulder Opal is often left with its natural ironstone matrix as part of the finished piece. This matrix provides a unique and earthy contrast to the opal’s colours, making each piece truly one of a kind.
