    Collection: Edwardian Category:

A beautiful George III pocket watch in a hand-engraved yellow gold pair case featuring an enamelled miniature of the goddess of love, Aphrodite, handing arrows to Cupid, surrounded by white enamel pearls and red guilloche enamelling with gold and royal blue edging. The front showcases rings of hand-engraved gold edging with royal blue and white enamel pearls encasing the watch. The dial displays an enamel white dial with black Roman numerals and gold hands. Fitted with a key-wound Verge escapement with a Fusee chain and cone to deliver more power transmission. This watch is in good working order, but is not calibrated. Stamped and hallmarked London 1781 and with maker’s mark of Barnard. A number five key accompanies this watch. To set the time, lift the casing top at the numeral three, then gently lift the glass at the numeral six and fit the key at the centre of the hands and turn until the hands reach your desired time.
