Victorian Shell Cameo Brooch Circa 1890s

This early Australian made brooch features a shell hand-carved cameo featuring a woman dressed for Winter. Set in a bezel setting with a polished surround and engraved detail. Secured with a metal pin and a hook catch. Fitted with a safety chain and pin. An engraved personal inscription on the back reads,” To Mother from Robbie”. The cameo is scribed with the carvers initials TP and is hallmarked 15ct with the makers mark for Levinson Jewellers of Perth, Western Australia.
